Gelli Plate Monotype

While this is a monotype process, meaning that an image is transferred from one surface to another, the plate has some unique properties that set it apart from traditional monotype.  The gelatin surface will release even dried-on acrylic paint, when handled properly, opening up the possibility of using acrylic paints alone or in addition to other forms of ink or paint. The transfer is accomplished by hand pressure alone, using fingertips or a baren.
