In the early 2000’s six artist friends wanted to start exhibiting together emphasizing the creativity of women as part of the theme. They decided on the name “Ain’t Nothing Like a Dame” with the ‘Rosie the Riveter’ image holding a paint brush as the representation for their collaboration. Each woman worked in different media and worked in different styles. They hoped the focus on female talent could showcase their individual work and increase credibility of women in the arts. While some of the original six artists have moved on, others have joined the group, and the philosophy of showcasing talented woman artists continues. “Dames Hit the Trails” is the group’s first time exhibiting at Mission Trails Regional Park.
As one of the four “Dames” exhibiting at Mission Trails Regional Park, I am showing my infrared Day photographs along side my Nightscape photography. Day and Night!
