Anthurium, collagraph

This original print technique is known as collagraph. The plate is a piece masonite. Areas of the plate are built up with acrylic modeling passte to create the characteristic surface of the flower. The leaf areas are developed with carved areas and acrylic media. To ink the plate in the intaglio manner, stencils were used to protect white areas and keep them clean of ink. The plate was printed on damp paper using an etching press.
